Quad City Seminars

Ah, the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd. (Or is it the other way around?) Sports shows are taking place all over America this time of year. Companies are showing off innovations in fishing tackle, electronics, hunting gear, sunglasses, boats, clothing, outdoor furniture, binoculars, and all manner of accessories. But most people come for the seminars.

Ok, that’s a lie. But I’ll be speaking next week (February 17-19) at the Quad City Conservation Alliance Expo Center’s 2012 Outdoor Show, which begins on Thursday, February 16. I would be honored to have you there to hear some concepts never really discussed before, in magazines, books, or on the web. My speaking schedule is posted below, and I’ll be talking about river smallmouths, incremental weighting systems, and a concept I call (for lack of a better term) Holistic Fishing. It goes beyond the concept of structure fishing, the In-Fisherman species calendars, and F+L+P=S to describe how to really find fish. Not that those older paradigms aren’t important. They’re critical but don’t cover everything. They’re just the beginning.

Pros and TV hosts have been hiding Holistic Fishing, or whatever you want to call it, from you. Maybe not on purpose, because maybe most of them haven’t really put it all into a package and named it. It’s a comprehensive look at the interwoven nature of the aquatic environment and how to read it to find fish. Over time, we’ve all read bits and pieces of it. I didn’t invent anything. But Buck Perry didn’t invent structure, either. He simply relayed information about how fish use structure to the general public. I’m just relaying observations in a unique format that will help you find fish faster. Any fish. Guaranteed. Come on in. Bring a pretzel and a beverage and sit a spell. One of the great pleasures I derive from this business is talking one-on-one with fisherfolk to answer any and all questions after a seminar. (And, yeah, I want to see all those fish pictures from your local waters, so bring ‘em along.) Hope to see you there.

    Matt,
You have really piqued my interest. Unfortunately I can't come to Northern Illinois. Will you be speaking at any shows near the Tulsa Ok area? If not is there a way we can get more info regarding this concept?
    Thanks.

I'll be writing a book on the subject, Ben. When it's out, you'll find out here, on the In-Fish website.
