Some people don’t believe that big fish can be found around urban fisheries. Well they should retink that. I fish the Cook County Forest Preserves around Chicago almost weekly. But on night became special. While fishing for bluegills and bass on evening at Papoose Lake, I hooked into this monster! To my surprise, this channel catfish weighed 12lbs, measured 30.5 inches long and was 9 inches accross here head. The battle lasted 7 minutes which seemed to be a lifetime. I caught her on a nightcrawler under a slip bobber. After quick pictures, I released her to fight another day. She truly is the biggest fish I ever caught.
