Z-Man Scented PogyZ

by Ned Kehde   |  July 6th, 2013 0

Midwest finesse anglers are constantly in search for a small boot- or paddle-tail grub. And even though Z-Man Fishing Products’ new Scented PogyZ was designed for saltwater anglers, it might suit some of freshwater finesse anglers’ needs when the largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and spotted bass are foraging on gizzard shad, small bluegill, green sunfish and various other kinds of fishes. In addition, white bass and wiper anglers should find it to be a valuable bait to have in their repertoire.

The PogyZ was designed to be affixed to a jig. Its body and tail are segmented. The folks at Z-Man say that the PogyZ’s body exhibits a “deep profile,” and this body shape with its teardrop-shaped paddle tail creates a tight, life-like wiggle when it is retrieved at a slow, medium, and fast pace.

It is impregnate with a scent called Pro-Cure, Inc.’s Super Gel.

Like all of Z-Man’s ElaZtech baits, it is amazingly durable, allowing black bass and temperate bass anglers to scores of their quarries on the same PogyZ before it needs to be replaced with a new one.

It is available in 12 colors: Smoky Shad, Electric Chicken, Purple/Chartreuse Tail, Pearl, Rootbeer/Chartreuse Tail,Goldrush, Bad Shad, New Penny, Redbone, Houdini, Mulletron, and Pinfish

A package of five baits, which should endure donnybrooks with 150 to 200 black bass or temperate bass, retails for $4.99. And it should be available in the marketplace around the end of July.
