Since 1981, In-Fisherman Editor-In-Chief Doug Stange, has masterminded the contents of what has become the most widely read and respected national freshwater fishing magazine in North America: In-Fisherman.
He also oversees the In-Fisherman series of annual guides; Walleye, Bass, Catfish, Ice Fishing, Pike-Muskie, Panfish and Gear Guides. Under Doug’s direction, In-Fisherman publications have become the trusted source of accurate, educational and entertaining information on multispecies freshwater fishing.
As host of In-Fisherman Television, Doug is keenly aware that, for most anglers, fishing remains a chance to get away from it all, to escape the hustle and bustle of the work-a-day world. But he also knows that catching fish is for almost all anglers an integral part of having fun.
Doug is one of North America’s most accomplished multispecies anglers, and has written about almost every aspect of freshwater fishing, from ethical considerations affecting the sport to specific tactics used to catch almost every fish that swims. His years of editorial excellence and invaluable efforts in blending fisheries science with practical fishing experience, plus his personal commitment and dedication to fisheries conservation and management will help ensure that the future of fishing is passed on to future generations.
In 2008, Doug was inducted into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Communicator for his significant and lasting contributions to the sport of freshwater fishing.
