Jeff Simpson

About Jeff

Jeff Simpson has been in the fishing industry for more than 20 years–14 of those years at In-Fisherman. After acquiring a degree in journalism from South Dakota State University, Simpson was hired as a staff writer for In-Fisherman’s popular walleye publications and assigned coverage of the walleye tournament trail.

As an editor, Simpson worked on the Walleye In-Sider magazine and the Ice Fishing Guide. He assumed direction of In-Fisherman photography, evolving into one of the most recognized field photographers in the fishing industry. Simpson has traveled North America capturing the thousands of multi-species images needed to meet In-Fisherman’s vast photo demands.

As the Digital Editorial Director for the InterMedia Fishing Group, Simpson manages all fishing websites. He continues his role as the studio and field photographer for In-Fisherman and Fly Fisherman magazines. Like all the editorial staff, he also plays an integral role in editing, managing and creating content for all In-Fisherman media products.

When not working or spending time with his family, Simpson fishes for walleye, muskies, ice fishing (for all fish), panfish, and fly fishing for smallmouth bass–in that order. He enjoys spending time creating fishing lures (i.e. Salmo’s Chubby Darter), in addition to tying flies.
