Big Northern Michigan Smallmouth !

Brant Brown

Royal Oak MI

I caught this smallmouth while fishing with my dad, Mike brown and his longtime friend Bill Kemeny. We were fishing Brevort Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They both grew up on Brevort Lake and we have camped there all of my life. It was the fourth of July and we all agreed to go out fishing together. It was a hot summer day for northern Michigan; we were relaxing and enjoying eachothers company when my rod doubled-over. Reeling this one in was a blast and I definitely got a workout along with my drag. We were very surprised to see it was a smallmouth when it rolled close enough to the boat. After putting up quite a fight we were able to land this big smallmouth which measured up to 21.5 inches long. Easily the biggest smallmouth I have ever caught in my life and an Upper Peninsula lunker!
