A buddy and I fished the mighty Tongue River Reservoir for some iceout cats. The lake has only been 100% ice free for roughly 7 days. We launched my boat for it's 2013 maiden voyage at 10:00 AM and closed out our day by watching the sun set. Air temp high was 58 degrees and water temp varied between 45-50.1 degrees. We ended up boating 4 piggy cats and 1 pike. All 4 fish were caught at different locations using frozen cutbait. All fish were caught near or in submerged trees with the depth varying between 1-3 feet. Unfortunately my scale malfunctioned and was unable to get an official weight on the big cat. All fish were released to fight another day.Cats:
