Now That's a Walleye

Steven Bisaha

I was fishing with a buddy of mine at the mouth montour creek where it meets the ohio river. It was a slow day for us, normally we would have caught a few white bass or some smallies but no luck. I was throwing a black and yellow panther martin spinner in the murky water towards the river. The water was higher than normal due to some rain the day before. on my second or third cast this monster hit it hard. I was pumped once i brought him close to the shore, so much that i jumped in the water behind him to make sure he didn't get away. This was the biggest walleye i have ever caught, or that anyone i know has caught. It measured 28 inches and weighed a about seven pounds. I released the fish back into the river and celebrated my catch. Needless to say we didn't catch anything that big that day.
