Last cast of the day!

June 21st, 2013 0

I was fishing with a good friend out of Green Bay and we had fished all morning. I had caught another fish, 45 inches long earlier in the morning but we had no action since then. We were just about to pack up for the day when I noticed a flash behind my lure as I was bringing it back to the boat. I started my figure 8 at boatside and the fished turned and slashed at my lure, just missing it. I kept up the routine and on the third turn she hit it full speed and instantly started thrashing and head-shaking trying to free herself. After a short battle, and walk around the boat she was in the net. Ironically she was the same length as the first fish of the day, but about twice as heavy! Needless to say, it was the last cast of the day.
