Boat rigging additions are designed to make boats safe, dependable, and convenient to use. Boats properly rigged to match walleye fishing methods help anglers become more proficient, which increases their probability for success.

Start by rigging your boat with the most important essentials, based on what you’ve budgeted. Rig the boat with motors—both gas-powered and electric—that have enough power to push or pull the boat through the water in wind and waves.

Correctly position electronics like flashers, LCDs, and GPS on durable and adjustable mounts. Strategically place rod holders and cleats along the gunwale. Provide the correct number and capacity of electric trolling-motor batteries.

And make sure all electronics are correctly installed with the proper-gauge wire, and that everything is on a fuse or attached to circuit breakers for safety.

Over the years, In-Fisherman staff members and In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) anglers have continued to revolutionize the way they rig their walleye boats. The following photos depict today’s notable walleye boat rigging options.
