Fishing Gear: Northland Glo-Shot Fire-Belly Spoon

Fishing Gear: Northland Glo-Shot Fire-Belly Spoon

Northland Glo-Shot Fire-Belly Spoon

Description and Application: The Glo-Shot features an exposed light stick that provides a powerful red, green or chartreuse glow lasting up to 8 hours. This is a proven technique when dealing with deep or stained water but will actually attract fish from great distances in clear-water situations. The spoon utilizes a lead-free Z-allow (zinc) body to cut through the water column reaching fish faster and without oversizing the offering. What’s more, the smaller profile spooks fewer fish than heavier spoons can in certain situations. All the while being a good alternative to lead. The Glo-Shot comes in four sizes and 14 lifelike colors.

Staff Perspective: When bass, walleyes, pike and other aggressive fish are on the feed, an eye-catching spoon like the Glo-Shot gets lots of attention from beneath the ice. I especially like that the spoon is fitted with a light-stick that attracts fish with a bright red, green or chartreuse glow that lasts over 8 hours. Load it up with a minnow head or a trifecta of wax worms, and the fish will light it up.—TA
