Fishing Gear: Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 120

Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 120

Description and Application:Winning Best of Show at the 2020 Online ICAST show, the Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 120 comes standard with a saltwater-ready 45-pound thrust, 12-volt Minn Kota motor. The motor features the famous Spot-Lock technology that holds the kayak in position despite wind and current, which helps the angler make more accurate cast. The boat also features foot-brace steering for hands-free fishing and exceptional maneuverability. The seats are premium and comfortable for full-day trips featuring a dual-later textilene, durable and UV resistant material that is easy to clean, and the seat is removeable for transport. The kayak is tournament ready and equipped with shallow-water anchor mounting inserts. Plus, so much more. The 120 comes in two cool colors.

Staff Perspective: I wasn’t a kayak guy until I climbed into one, and now I’m quite dedicated to the sport. I’ve always appreciated Old Town’s attention to detail, especially to be able to fish and maneuver the kayak hands free. Now with the Minn Kota power option, and especially Spot-Lock, kayak fishing has achieved new control levels. These kayaks are fishing machines and offer a truly enjoyable fishing experience, especially on waters you can’t access with a bigger boat. Get one, you’ll love it.—TA
