Staff Perspective:I can personally vouch for the toughness of these reels as we’ve used them to troll for muskies, and when you’re dragging 12-inch-plus baits with huge metal lips, you need a reel that will handle the abuse. The Penn Fathom II will do just that without fail. I prefer the linecounter version for our trolling efforts, and of course the deep spool comes in handy—this reel is a tool anglers everywhere will find handy. It’s a workhorse indeed.
