The Berkley Krej , a new hard bait with an innovative upturned bill, has won the Best of Category award for Freshwater Hard Bait at ICAST 2024. Designed for use with forward-facing sonar, the Krej offers a unique action and presentation to attract fish.
The Krej breaks away from traditional jerkbait designs with its upturned bill. This allows the lure to rise in the water column on a retrieve, then fall backward towards the target fish. This mimics the natural fleeing motion of baitfish, potentially triggering strikes from fish that have seen more traditional presentations.
It is intended to be used with forward-facing sonar, a technology that allows anglers to see fish in real-time beneath their boat. This lets anglers see how fish react to the bait's movement and adjust their presentation accordingly.
The Berkley Krej is available in a single 100mm size and ten colors.
