In-Fisherman Editor-in-Chief samples the world's finest redfish and speckled trout fishery south of New Orleans along the southern reaches of the Mississippi River. Knowing how good reds and trout are to eat, the boys practice selective harvest and keep a few for dinner. The cool part is you can use standard freshwater tactics and gear to catch fish in this part of the country.

00:00:18.510 --> 00:00:30.870: One of the hottest things happening in fishing today is the growth, the boom, actually in near coastal fishing for red fish, speckled trout, and a variety of other species ranging from tarpon to sharks.
00:00:30.870 --> 00:00:48.450: This sort of fishing has become known as inshore fishing. The fish are big and mean and readily accessible to lots of anglers, including freshwater anglers, who can, for the most part be successful by applying many of the same freshwater skills that determine fishing success on their home waters.

00:01:08.130 --> 00:01:25.110: The Texas coast also offers tremendous fishing, especially in one of the most beautiful inshore areas of the country, south of Corpus Christi, to Port Mansfield down to South Padre Island. One of the most compelling areas to visit, though is the area just 30 minutes south of New Orleans.
00:01:25.110 --> 00:01:43.800: There's more red fish and trout here than anywhere in the world. So many fish that harvesting trout and red fish is still an option. Here we join In-Fisherman, Editor-in-Chief Doug Stange as he travels the bayou back country north of Leite with outfitter Captain Raymond Griffin of Griffin Fishing Charters…
