Description and Application: According to two-time Bassmaster Classic champion Hank Cherry, this is the ultimate bladed jig rod. With plenty of sensitivity and feel at the top, combined with serious power at the handle, this rod will handle a variety of bladed-jig sizes and stand up to the battle once hooked up. The flex in this rod will allow for a higher hook-up ratio by letting fish inhale the bait a split-second before you set. The result is a great landing percentage. The rod measures 7-foot, 1-inch and comes in a medium heavy power—soft enough to feel the cover it’s coming through and strong enough to pull the fish from the cover they live in.

I love that Abu Garcia harnessed this prowess and built rods with detailed insight from the pros who use them at the top level of professional bass fishing. I know for a fact this rod does all that Cherry and Abu Garcia claims—and it’s one of the only technique-specific rods built for vibrating jigs like Berkley’s Slobberknocker. If you’re not keeping a vibrating jig on your boat deck at all times, you’re missing one of the best bites out there. It’s just fun to use.
