Staff Perspective: This is my go-to reel for nearly all moving baits—especially crankbaits and vibrating jigs—anything you need to move at a slower yet controlled pace. Being able to slow down a crankbait or Slobberknocker to keep it in the strike zone a little longer will produce more bites. When paired with a Veritas Winch Casting rod or an Ike Signature Delay rod, a perfect moving-bait rod-and-reel combo is born. The whole purpose of a slower reel with a slower rod precents the angler from ripping hooks out of the fish’s mouth during the hookset and especially during power runs at boat side.
