Fishing Gear: Lew's XD Cranking Series Rods

Lew’s XD Cranking Series Rods

Description and Application: Designed specifically for the angler who is serious about crankbait fishing, the Lew’s XD Cranking Series brings all the right attributes these anglers demand. What makes the XD Series the premier rod for cranking is the Premium HM50 Tour Grade high modulus Graphite rod blank with Carbon Nano Tube construction. The Lew’s hybrid construction has delivered a rod with the ideal amount of blank power for securing exceptional hooksets and long casts, while providing a soft tip that is necessary for fish fighting, phenomenal bait action, and dealing with fatigue that often accompanies long hours of cranking. Dedicated crankbait enthusiasts know just how demanding a day of cranking can be, on the rod and the angler. The XD Series is engineered to meet the challenges of heavy cranking, with first-in-class SeaGuide X-Frame guides for smooth casting and delicate movement of line that is under constant tension and vibration with each crank of the reel.

Staff Perspective:I’m a crankbait junkie and I love these rods. They come in four actions to handle various levels of diving cranks, especially the deep divers. There is no doubt the right crankbait rod puts more power in your hands when it comes to bumping and swimming through cover, feeling a following fish and then carefully battling that beast back to the boat. I’m very picky about my crank rods, but I can assure you that this family of rods will live up to your expectations. I love them. You will too. There are five rods in the lineup.
