Northland Rattlin’ Puppet Minnow
Description and Application: The Rattlin’ Puppet Minnow puts new noise in an already productive profile. Still sporting the trademark action of darting and swimming like a dying minnow, the heavy zinc frame fishes great both vertically and on the cast. It’s an incredibly versatile presentation. The new Puppet Minnow also features some impressive upgrades as well such as a wide-cap hook for better sets and hook retention and the front hook has also been removed in favor of a more weight-forward gliding action. It weighs 1/4 ounce, armed with a No. 10 treble and 2/0 rear hooks and it comes in 12 forage-mimicking colors.
Staff Perspective: I like versatility, you’ve heard me say it before. This lure can be cast or jigged vertically, appealing to both ice and open-water anglers. When reaction strikes count, the Puppet Minnow will attract attention from all kinds of predatory fish, which I also like. The hook set up is innovative and has proven to keep fish pinned to the boat or up through the hold. With the added noise and improvements, this thing deserves a spot in your arsenal.—TA
