Old Town Sportsman Discovery Solo 119

Description and Application: At 56 lbs. the Old Town Sportsman Discovery Solo 119 canoe is the ideal grab-and-go watercraft for anglers and hunters alike. It offers the simplicity and utility of a solo canoe with the agility and sleek handling of a kayak. The Discovery was pioneered by Old Town featuring the proven 3-layer hull construction of closed cell foam surrounded by layers of high-density polyethylene creates a rugged yet lightweight hull. It’s agile, stable and easy to handle and well-suited for paddling with a double-blade kayak paddle. The canoe features a contoured, adjustable kayak-style seat made of a thermoformed closed-cell foam that provides support and comfort. The built-in channels direct water to drain holes and provide ventilation for extended comfort. It comes standard with recessed track on forward thwart for easy on/off accessory mounting, two convenient forward-facing flush mounted rod holders built into the seat's armrest for swapping lures or landing a fish. Two rear-facing flush mounted rod holders behind the seat for rod storage or trolling.

Staff Perspective:A canoe that not only provides lightweight maneuverability and fishability, but it also provides an experience. There’s no doubt that getting to secluded waters is a part of the fun, but a canoe like the Discovery Solo 119 brings simplicity and reliability to the equation that just feels good. Gliding through glass-calm waters that most people will never see is an experience all its own, and from a boat like this you can’t go wrong. It comes in three colors.
