I was fishig with my brother in-law Mike on Lake Eustis in Florida. He took me to the edge of the lake near the entrance to the Dora canal. We had fished for twenty minutes without any hits. The wind was blowing us away from the shore but I was able to cast a plastic worm to the edge of the weed bed. I finally felt a light hit and the fish swam towards the boat. I set the hook and I knew the fish was on. When it jumped I knew this was the biggest fish I had ever hooked. I faught the fish to the side of the boat and Mike was able to grab the lower jaw and lift it into the boat. He weighed the fish at 8 pounds and measured the lenght to be 24 inches. As we took the photo I noticed the FWC tag in its back. We contacted the phone number on the tag. We clipped the tag off and released the fish unharmed. I have mailed the tag into the Florida office with information about the fish.
