ICAST 2025: Ultimate Kayak Motor Unveiled

Inside Garmin's revolutionary brushless stern-mounted trolling motor.

In this energetic booth-side chat from ICAST 2025, Thomas Allen of In-Fisherman and Kayak Fishing Fun teams up with Danny Thompson at the Garmin booth to unveil the Garmin Force Current—a stern-mounted, brushless trolling motor designed specifically for kayaks. This innovative brushless motor delivers powerful propulsion with minimal noise and high energy efficiency. It includes anchor lock, heading hold, and foot-pedal control allowing hands-free maneuvering, even sharp turns like a zero-turn mower. It's compatible with both 12V and 24V systems, its quarter-turn plugs make installation and removal fast and easy, and it's ideal for navigating weed flats and targeting species like bass, pike, muskies, and walleyes.

00:00:02.310 --> 00:00:22.890: Hey, welcome to ICAST 2025. I'm Thomas Allen within Fisherman and Kayak Fishing Fun with my good friend Danny Thompson in the Garmin booth. And we've got something really cool to show you. Kayak fishing just got a whole lot faster with the brand new Garmin Force Current, which is a stern mounted trolling motor. Danny, I can't wait to have this thing. Tell me about it.

00:00:22.890 --> 00:00:57.990: You know, I think this is gonna be really cool 'cause it's really revolutionizing the way that we propel our kayaks with, you know, a motor that's completely brushless. It's got all the features that Garmin has brought to the trolling motor industry, built into a kayak option, you know, so brushless motor, it's gonna make it very powerful, very efficient. It's got quarter-turn plugs on everything so we're able to quickly remove it from the kayak if we need to. But it's got features like anchor lock heading hold, we've got foot pedals. We're able to control it almost like a zero-turn mower where we can, you know, turn left and right really quickly. But keeping our hands free so we're able to fish while moving along with the trolling motor…
