00:00:05.580 --> 00:00:17.070: You are listening to In Fisherman Storyline, North America's Top Voice in Multi-Species Freshwater Angling. Here is your host, Thomas Allen.
00:00:21.990 --> 00:00:40.620: Welcome to another episode of In-Fisherman Storyline. This is a road trips, and this is a very special one. In fact, I was looking forward to doing this. I kind of had the idea of doing this podcast, Brett, when you and I talked a year ago of taking a, a, a all the podcast equipment to a destination and really getting the experience there.

00:00:40.620 --> 00:00:58.980: And we're, we're in a very, I, I have had so much fun. I'm not leaving. Perfect. I'm gonna hide out in the cabin, but we're at Tazin Lake Lodge in northern Saskatchewan. We are hunting giant Lake Trout big Pike, and having the time of our lives filming an In-Fisherman TV episode.
00:00:58.980 --> 00:01:08.580: But I'm so intrigued by how this place was, was discovered and, and managed and, and what makes it such a world class destination that we had to get the whole story.
00:01:08.580 --> 00:01:19.980: So we've got a couple of interesting people here, a couple Minnesota boys that, that spend a lot of time here, Brett and Dan Amison, if you recognize those names, you should, because they spend a lot of time making outdoor media.

00:01:19.980 --> 00:01:26.400: And you know, I've written this down, Brett, but I promise you I'm gonna get it wrong, but you… That's all right… You walk, walk me through what you do. There's Yeah, there's a lot.
00:01:26.400 --> 00:01:40.980: So I don't blame you for getting it wrong, but we, we do a radio show and a podcast called Sporting Journal Radio that airs on 30 radio stations around the region. And on YouTube you can watch it. It's on, you know, Spotify, wherever you get your favorite podcast.
00:01:40.980 --> 00:01:46.860: And I, we've been doing that for about 11 years now. Dan's been a part of it for the last few years, so that's been a lot of fun.
00:01:46.860 --> 00:02:01.950: We do a TV show called Prairie Sportsman, and that airs on all the PBS stations around the upper Midwest region, Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa, I think we're on Illinois, Wyoming, right? Wyoming, Wyoming, yep. And it's, it, the PBS know you've been on the commercial side of tv.
00:02:01.950 --> 00:02:22.020: The, the public side of it is almost as confusing sometimes... Oh, sure… But at the same time, it's easy… Like any PBS affiliate in the country, an affiliate's not the exact right word for it, but they're all, they're all individual, but they're all together kind of makes sense. But they can pick up the show for free so we don't have to pay to distribute the show.
00:02:22.020 --> 00:02:34.830: It's kind of nice, but then it's also very hard to sell, so, well, it goes back and forth… And, and you guys are busy 24/7… I know you, you shoot a lot of photography and, and you're, as, as we have it written here, you're the host of Tazin tv.
00:02:34.830 --> 00:02:48.990: Yeah. Which is a cool thing that goes on here… Yeah. So we do that YouTube show… We got four YouTube channels and a lot of freelance stuff and product stuff. But starting in 20 20 17, we started doing some YouTube content up here, Tazin Lake Lodge.
00:02:48.990 --> 00:02:59.930: Well, it's been exciting. I watched all of it before I got here. Anyway, next to Brett is Dan, who I mistakenly thought was his son. That's, I don't know how to feel about that one.
00:02:59.930 --> 00:03:26.500: Yeah, yeah. Dan, Dan represents the younger generation here, but does a lot of camera work and you guys kind of tag team a lot of this production and a couple of good dudes. And I'm, I'm glad you're doing this with me. You, you've said a lot of things this week that I ignored, so I'm interested to hear what you have to say. Well, and could you hear it over the sound of a Yamaha? Yeah. Barely. What, what are you saying? And then Trevor Montgomery is our guest here too, as well. And, and you co-owned Tazin Lodge with Barry Praw…
