Strap in and listen, this is a long one but entertaining from the word go!

Truncated transcript:

00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:18.000: You're listening to In-Fisherman Storyline. North America's top voice in multi-species freshwater angling. Here is your host, Thomas Allen.

00:00:18.000 --> 00:01:06.000: You know, it's Monday morning and when I get a phone call or text message, "Hey, I'm available to do the podcast on Monday." And it was Friday. I'm going to verify that. I think it was late Friday. No, it was yesterday. What we should verify before is you canceled on me. What we're going to verify first is you canceled on me for a ski meet. That's what we're going to verify first. Yeah, you're right. That's correct. I canceled on you for a ski meet that my daughter was competing in and she made the Varsity Squad this year. So like you're way down that list of priorities. Apparently. Does that hurt your feelings a little bit? You better chill your buttocks out about what time of this, what time of that.

00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:36.000: I feel like--I made you get up earlier. That was your problem because you're a little bit of a slacker. You're a second shifter, as we call them in the media world, Thomas. Maybe that or I was on the water shooting all day yesterday, two hours away, and wanted to not have to get to the office before eight o'clock. But hey, we're here. It's early. I've got my cup filled up with the finest blends of Brainerd coffee beans and we're doing In-Fisherman's Storyline and we're with, dare I say, a good friend of mine.

00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:57.000: Probably, I don't know how many years I've known you, Ross, but it's been a long time. He's wrote articles for me, done videos. He's been a regular contributor at numbers of titles I've worked at over the years. And he's a captain, Captain Ross Robertson from somewhere northern Ohio, Port Clinton, I think, is a walleye guide. Thanks for being here, buddy.

00:01:57.000 --> 00:02:34.000: Appreciate you. Yeah, we have worked together through a few stops, as they say. That's right. You've been in the same place. Your employer--I don't know. I couldn't work for your boss. He is a stinker. I know how he is. He is a stinker, as they say. On my podcast, we'd probably say something a little different, but a stinker. He's an asshole, let's be honest. Okay, we're learning our ropes here. Yeah, no, we don't like to drop a lot of bad words on this show, but it is a PG-13 rating, especially this one in particular.

00:02:34.000 --> 00:03:18.000: And I wanted to-- first of all, your name is on a lot of photos and captions in the In-Fisherman magazine. You've produced content for In-Fisherman magazine. You've written for me for the four and a half years I've been here. And I want people to know who you are. I want to know why I'd bother putting up with--Yeah, but I want people to know why I deal with your judgmental, loudmouth, obnoxious personality for so long. And it's because-- Is it, though? Is it? Well, of all people, Tom, you should appreciate somebody that calls it like it is and doesn't just rant to rant.

00:03:18.000 --> 00:04:03.000: We have a lot of people in the fishing industry that rant to rant to get attention. I'd like to think that mine has a little bit of validity or weight behind me when I choose to. Yeah, and honestly, probably the baseline of our relationship, if you want to call it that, is that neither one of us behave in the way that either of us should. So we both--I would argue that, but I see what you're doing. Yeah, I think that PC is not for me. How about that? But, yeah, fun fact-- Well, you've been in this game for a very long time. So we're going to dig into your fun fact here. But the whole goal here is to-- I want your story. I want to know what makes Ross Robertson Ross Robertson…
