Megabass hires Leeth as marketing head

Megabass of America, the North American arm of Japan’s premier manufacturer of high-end fishing tackle, announced the appointment of Patterson Leeth to director of marketing. In his new role, Patterson will lead Megabass’ North American marketing strategy and implementation, reinforcing the brand’s deep commitment to inspired craftsmanship and angling outperformance. He joins Megabass’ leadership team effective immediately and will report to Yuskei Murayama, president and CEO.

Leeth comes to Megabass with a wealth of experience in the outdoor industry, having most recently served as the director of brand for Simms, where he played a pivotal role in driving brand growth, engagement and market share. His strategic leadership and ability to create compelling brand experiences will be invaluable as Megabass continues to establish deeper roots in North America.

“Patterson brings unbridled passion and a deeply shared commitment to the values we strive to instill in every facet of our business, from product to customer experience,” said Murayama. “His unique ability to merge strategic thinking with creativity, cross-functional management and granular execution will ensure that we are positioned to deliver on our promise to North American anglers."

Under his leadership at Simms, Patterson successfully implemented marketing strategies that significantly enhanced brand awareness, engagement and loyalty, supporting the overall growth strategy of the brand. His approach aligns with Megabass' commitment to equipment that inspires performance and fosters a deeper connection to the natural world.

“I find such reward in working for brands I’ve admired as a consumer,” said Leeth. “As someone with a deep appreciation for organizations who are steeped in their ethos, derive pride in their craftsmanship, and prioritize innovation, I’m honored to be joining the team at Megabass, a company that has initiated some of my most memorable days on the water. Megabass retains a loyal ecosystem of advocates, spanning bodies of water, species, and backgrounds. I’m eager to foster the existing community and create meaningful awareness for those anglers who find us along the way.”
