After work one night I got invited to a bonfire next to gravel pit. So I brought my pole and fished for 20 min. I tried live bait but I couldn't see the bobber. So I switched to a spinning rig with a jig on it. After about 7 casts I felt a hit, it wasn't the biggest hit ever but it was noticeable, set the hook and started reeling in. Not knowing what I had caught until it hit the shore. I thought it was a bass because it had a big belly.(this was at 9:30 at night so we couldn't see, we also didn't have lights) I shinned my light on it and I was astonished! Everyone rushed over and started cheering. I felt like a hero! It gave me such a rush I couldn't stop thinking about it! After we measured the owner determined that it indeed was a new record!
