Among the changes Major League Fishing announced this week for the 2026 Toyota Series is a technology update that limits forward-facing and 360-degree sonar to one continuous 3-hour period each day of competition, mimicking the Bass Pro Tour rules.
The series continues to boast the biggest payouts and lowest entry fees of any national circuit while offering a pathway to the Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit, the aforementioned Bass Pro Tour as well as REDCREST.
The Toyota Series in 2026 will be comprised of five geographic divisions and a wild card division with three 3-day qualifying tournaments in each division. The full field will compete on days 1 and 2 with the top 25 advancing to day 3. The tournament winners and the top 25 pros in points in each division will qualify for the Toyota Series Championship. The winner of each qualifying event will take home $40,000 based on a 160-boat field size with the prize scaling up tp $65,000 for a field size of 260 boats. A quarter of the field will take home at least $2,000 on the pro side.
“Anglers compete in the Toyota Series because it delivers meaningful payouts at the ramp and, straightforward advancement to the no-entry-fee Toyota Series Championship offering some of the sport’s biggest awards,” Boyd Duckett, MLF President and CEO, said in a release announcing the program. “For 2026, we preserved the format anglers love and added a reasonable limit on forward-facing sonar to keep the sport multi-dimensional where a variety of techniques contribute to success. It’s the same Toyota Series experience that anglers know and love – competitive, rewarding and built for growth.”
