My dad and 2 brothers and I have been doing a yearly fishing trip to Kabinakagami Lake, Ontario, Canada for over 20 years. It is a very important tradition of quality time we spend together doing something we all love. I have been very close to the 40 inch mark on Pike many times over the years, but could never crack 40 inches. This fish was 44 inches and far exceeded my hopes. This year my 14 year old nephew Tommy Clayman went for the first time and I was honored to let him see this fish successfully caught and released back to fight another day. It is important to teach and coach around the concepts and beliefs of catch and release and selective harvest to our young people. I don't think Tommy really thought he would ever see a fish that big and I think he really had a great first trip. I am hoping Tommy will help us carry on our family tradition for many years to come!
