“Women anglers are a huge part of our USA Bass team,” says team manager John Knight. “When MLF came to us about the ICAST Cup, we knew that this was a great opportunity for all the women bass anglers across the nation. Competing at the ICAST Cup and participating in ICAST is a big win for everyone."

The four-hour ICAST Cup event is a tough test for anglers as there is little room for mistakes. Women pairs are encouraged to make the trip and earn a spot on the USA Bass team.

“We are thrilled to work with USA Bass to provide this qualifying opportunity to top women in our sport,” said Dave Washburn, Vice President of Operations for Major League Fishing. “Representing the United States on the international stage is a huge honor, and it all starts at the ICAST Cup.”

The Pan American Bass Fishing Championship started in 2018 on Lake Okeechobee with the help of the Roland & Mary Ann Martin Marina & Resort. It then moved to Canada’s Lake St. Francis in Cornwall, ON, in 2019. The 2020 event was held was held on Lake Guerrero in Padilla, Tamaulipas, Mexico and 2023 saw the Pan Am Bass Championship return to the USA at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The 2024 event will be hosted in Canada this September on the St. John’s River in New Brunswick. In 2025 it will return to Mexico.
