Vacation time

Vacation time

For the next two weeks, my angling and writing efforts will be overtaken by some captivating family events. Some of these goings on will transpire during our annual trip to the Northwoods of Minnesota, where members of our family have vacationed since the 1930s. On  this year's venture to the Northwoods, I will primarily watch and help some of our children and grandchildren and their mother and grandmother employ Midwest finesse tactics.

Therefore, after the publication on July 24 of the guide to "Midwest Finesse Fishing: June 2015," which is a 24,290-word article about how, when, and where Midwest finesse anglers fished in June, our Midwest finesse columns will not be published for a spell.

Below are two photographs of two of our 10 grandchildren. One is holding a largemouth bass, and the other one is holding a smallmouth bass.  They caught these bass by using Midwest finesse tactics during one of our recent family vacations to the Northwoods. We are hoping, as we have done at times in the past,  to write a synopsis of our family's piscatorial endeavors, and if we are able to write one, it will appear in August.

Our grandson Logan Cayton of Emporia, Kansas, with a largemouth bass that he caught on one of our annual family vacations in the Northwoods of Minnesota. We are hoping that our children and grandchildren will tangle with scores of largemouth bass and smallmouth bass on our 2015 vacation.

Natalie Myers of Lawrence, Kansas, holding a Northwoods' smallmouth bass that she caught while employing Midwest finesse tactics on our annual family vacation.
