Strike King’s 2.75-inch Rage Swimmer Ned Kehde November 22nd, 2017 | More From Ned Kehde Share0 Tweet Email Share on Facebook.Share on Twitter.Share on Google+ Since 2006, Strike King Lure Company’s Super Finesse Worm and its Zero have played a formidable role in the world of Midwest finesse fishing. And at the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades show on July 12 at Orlando, Florida, they introduced a swimbait that has caught the attention of a goodly number of Midwest finesse anglers. It is called the 2.75-inch Rage Swimmer. It has a distinct and bulbous head. Its nose is blunt. Its torso is somewhat shad-shaped. From its belly to the union with its tail, its torso becomes progressively smaller, and it is encompassed by 29 ribs. The ribs are slanted or tilted forward, which enhances the way the entire bait gyrates and undulates even when an angler is employing a slow and methodical presentation. The ribs also soften the texture of the torso. And at times, the gaps between the ribs radiate air bubbles, and in some crystalline waterways, these bubbles are thought to attract the attention of black bass. It possesses a paddle tail, which some anglers call a boot tail, and the folks at Strike King describe it as “a thinned-down tail that delivers superior action at all speeds.” Midwest finesse anglers will rig it on either 1/16- or 3/32-ounce mushroom-style jigs, and they prefer a jig with either a No. 4 or a No. 2 hook. It is available in 11 colors: Ayu, Blue Bug, Electric Shad, Ghost Shad, Green Gizzard Shad, Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin/Pearl Belly, KVD Magic, Pearl Flash, Pro Blue Red Pearl, and Sexy Shad. A package of seven costs $5.49. Endnotes (1) Here is a link to Strike King’s website: http://www.strikeking.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=733&Itemid=1259.
