55-inch Muskie

While out fishing in our friends boat, the maker of the lure, Dave Lawrence, I got lucky enough to reel in this monster. She hit the new color of Lawrence muskie lure, yellow belly straight carp. We had gotten 2 fish in the boat the night before both on the Lawrence muskie lure green karma jointed lure a 41 and a 42 1/2. That night as soon as we started to troll hooked up with a 40 1/2. Then there was a long pause in action until a huge thunder storm started our way out of Detroit. The sound of the reel screaming put everyone into action. She had hit the Lawrence muskie lure, straight carp on the plainer board and was pulling off line with such little effort it got everyone excited. When she got close enough to see, a spot light was shone on to her, at that point I got week in the knees as most muskie fishermen will know. She was huge! My boyfriend netted her and Dave removed the hooks as I looked on in awe. I couldn't get over the size of her mouth. after a few pictures were taken back in the water she went. It took less then 15 minutes and she took off strong for the bottom to catch again another day.... Hopefully this fall!
