Fishing Gear: BOLT Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock

Fishing Gear: BOLT Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock

Description and Application: Whether it’s a boat trailer, a pop-up camper, a utility trailer or a toy hauler, keeping your unattended fishing gear safe and secure should be a top priority.

Finding a theft deterrent that is reliable and simple to install can prove challenging, but the folks at BOLT have come up with an ideal solution.

The Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock utilizes BOLT’s one-key lock technology to allow for simple programming of the lock with the vehicle’s ignition key. That way, no other key can be used to access the Coupler Lock. Think of it as the passcode for your unattended trailer. Different versions of the Off Vehicle Coupler Lock are available based on your vehicle’s manufacturer.

Staff Insight: This product is a no-nonsense way to prevent theft of your trailers, whether they are parked in your driveway, at your cabin or at a job site. It wasn’t until earlier this year that I began storing a boat in my driveway. Not just any boat either. This was a boat that has been in my family for three generations now. I live in an extremely safe neighborhood and work from home, but the Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock delivered that extra peace of mind that the boat trailer wasn’t going anywhere without my truck key.

The Coupler Lock is rock solid and easy to install and remove. Made of hardened steel, it works with couplers that measure 1 7/8 inches 2 inches and 2 5/16 inches. To be honest, it’s like attaching a “Don’t Even Bother” sign to your trailer, advising would-be thieves their efforts will be for naught.
