Brown Trout fishing with Suckers?

Brown Trout fishing with Suckers?

Grady Codd

Mars Pa

I wasn't even aware that the lake contained trout. We were fishing a grass flat in about 1-2 feet of water through the ice for northern pike with tip-ups. All the traps were baited with suckers, big ones too, most over 7 inches. The flag went up and I ran over, pulled the line, and a few minutes later had a 26 inch Brownie at the hole. after a minute of freaking out, I reached down the hole and dug him out of there, I was so pumped up. My biggest browny and first through the ice. while pike fishing.
