Damiki Fishing Tackle's Air Craw

Damiki Fishing Tackle's Air Craw

Damiki Fishing Tackle introduced its Air Craw to bass anglers in the United States and Canada at the 2011 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades show in Las Vegas. But a Finesse News Network member recently pointed out that we had failed to write a word about it in our Midwest finesse gear-guide columns. And he thought that Midwest finesse anglers who like to affix a soft-plastic crawfish to a jig would be interested in knowing something about the three-inch Air Craw, and we agreed.

It is manufactured in three sizes: two-, three-, and four-inch models, but the two-inch model is only available in Asia.

The three-inch Air Craw's tail and part of its torso are ringed with small ribs. The section of its torso that is devoid of the rings is adorn with six appendages, and each appendage is graced with a small spherical knob, which some folks describe as an air bubble, and these bubbles or knobs accentuate the gyrations of those appendages. Two long antennas protrude from the tip of its head, and two small eyes embellish the top of its head. A long claw is attached to both sides of the upper portions of it body. Each claw is endowed with a feature that Damiki describes as an innovative air pocket, and these pockets allow the claws to elevate with a provocative demeanor.

Midwest finesse anglers will rig it on either a 1/16- or 3/32-ounce Gopher Tackle Mushroom Head Jig. But it could also be used on a split-shot rig or small jika rig.

It is available in eight colors: Black Blue; Black Red; Cherry Red; Green Pumpkin Black; Original Green Pumpkin; Watermelon Candy; Watermelon Red Black; and White Silver Flake.

A package of 10 three-inch Air Craws can be purchased for $5.79.
