Berkley Heavy Cover Jig
Description and Application: With the insight of veteran pro Gary Klein, Berkley rounds out their new jig collection with the Heavy Cover Jig that works as hard as you do to catch cover-related bass. The heavy-duty, pointed-head jig is meant to dig into the thickest cover without getting snagged up. The 0-degree heavy-cover hook will keep them pinned all the way back to the boat. Think of it as a wrench to crank bass out of their hidey-holes. The Heavy Cover Jig comes in 3/4-, 1- and 1 1/4-ounce versions and eight eye-catching colors.
Staff Perspective: No doubt jig fishing is hand-to-hand combat, but it’s so much fun. The jig was designed to entice bass holding tight to cover, especially brushpiles and other dense subsurface structural elements, but getting in and out of that cover is the challenge. Having a jig handy that is built to penetrate that cover and make it out again, is key to catching the fish that live there. This jig features the right design to make you more successful.
Cost: $4.99
