Fishing Gear: Berkley Swim Jig

Fishing Gear: Berkley Swim Jig

Berkley Swim Jig

Description and Application: Bobby Lane knows swim jig business, inside and out and he had a serious hand in the design of the Berkley Swim Jig. It features all the right components in all the right places to be effective searching for neutral to negative bass. The pointed-head design stays on keel, while effortlessly swims through a variety of vegetation and cover. The jig is available in 1/4-, 3/8- and 1/2-ounce weights and 10 perfect colors.

Staff Perspective: When moving blade baits just don’t produce, pick up a swim jig. Work it back slowly and dance it along above and through weeds. I’ve found swim jigs serve a unique purpose, and colors are critical, too. With the head design, PowerBait skirt, ultra-sharp hook and soft-ish weedguard, the Berkley Swim Jig deserves a spot in your rod locker.
