Was fishing on the banks on a tributary of the notorius KAW river in topeka kansas was in the twlight zone about 8-9pm in late July . My buddy and I went to a local bait hole to get live bluegills about 5-8 inchs long and were using 7ft ugly stick tiger rods with Abu Garcia 1000i reels while having a couple cold beverages and this tank of a fish hit my rod so hard that it ripped it out of the pole holder stuck in the ground a ft deep and threw my pole against a small tree and i grabbed it and of course i didnt have to set the hook or anything , the fish did all the work . And so i faught the 65 lbs flat for 20 mins and then had my buddy slide down a 10 ft inbankment to grab the fish with no gloves and pull her up ... and took a couple pictures and weighed the fish in a net . The funny story to this is 4 days later in same spot i had to do the same thing for my friend but his was 7 lbs bigger and was a male .
