One of my favorite times of year is football season! Not because I like sitting on the couch watching college and NFL games. Rather, football-shaped smallmouth are more accessible this time of year more than any other. I caught this beauty fishing a new Terminator Super Stainless Rig tipped with Trigger X Slop Hoppers and silver willow blades off of a deep main lake flat. I did not believe this fish was as big as it was until I unhooked her. Almost as an afterthough, I measured it and discovered it was over 20 inches. Largest one of the season!
