Decided to wade a nearby pond after work in spite of the almost 20 mph wind. Fished 30 minutes with wind at my back, with a mix of smallish bass and a few pickerel. Then turned and fished into the teeth of the wind, switching to a larger Rapala yellow perch plug. Was within steps of the take out, and decided on one last cast along the shores standing weed-line. The bass crushed it. I fish Ultralite, so the battle was on. With the low light near dusk it was touch and go. I have had them make a last dash between my legs before ... and, this one read that chapter ... but, so had I. I was glad for the large soft mesh net. 22.5 inch x 14.5 inch.
