My wife and I were just about done packing up our gear for the night when my last pole in the water started screaming! After tripping the bail, the fish continued to strip line, and it took several minutes before I was able to turn it around. The cat surfaced about 60 feet off shore, rolled, and slapped the water with it's tail; my heart was racing when I saw how big it was! After my wife netted it, we took measurements and pictures and got it safely back in the water. The cat must have still be fired up from the fight; as soon as I laid it in the shallows, the cat took off. It was the greatest moment in my first year of cat fishing!
