Minn Kota has announced a significant update to its bow-mount motor lineup, along with the introduction of QUEST technology. The newly revamped Ultrex™, Ulterra®, Instinct, Terrova® , Riptide Terrova®, PowerDrive™, and Riptide PowerDrive™ bow-mount trolling motors now offer a fresh look and a range of upgraded features.
These upgraded trolling motors are equipped with an enhanced GPS suite that includes popular features like Spot-Lock and Follow-the-Contour. Moreover, Minn Kota has added new tools for improved boat control, catering to anglers of all skill levels and fishing preferences.
The new features across all bow-mount models include an Enhanced GPS Suite with a Drift Mode, which automatically adjusts speed and direction to maintain a true drift, eliminating the need for ropes or shallow water anchor paddles. The Follow-the-Contour functionality has also been improved, allowing for better integration with LakeMaster and CoastMaster maps to stay on the desired course. Another notable feature is Dodge Mode, which enables anglers to temporarily switch from auto navigation to manual steering to maneuver through waves and structures before returning to their original route without resetting it.
Additionally, the new bow-mount motors now have seamless connectivity with Humminbird fish finders via the One-Boat Network. The inclusion of all necessary adapters in the motor package ensures easy networking without requiring any additional setup. The One-Boat Network App provides a unified control platform for various components on the boat, including the trolling motor, shallow water anchors, and Humminbird head units.

Minn Kota has also incorporated an enhanced built-in 2D sonar with Dual Spectrum CHIRP into every motor. This addition brings the unrivaled sonar clarity of Humminbird technology to Minn Kota motors, further enhancing the angling experience.
Among the new introductions, Minn Kota's QUEST technology stands out. While resembling popular models, QUEST motors have been completely redesigned to feature a dual 24- or 36-volt brushless lower unit, a carbon fiber-infused upgraded shaft, and reinforced brackets and pivot points. These improvements have resulted in a 30 percent longer runtime and up to 50 percent more torque on QUEST motors–great for fishing in strong winds, waves, and currents.
The QUEST technology is available in the Ultrex, Ulterra, Instinct, Terrova, and Riptide Terrova models. The Riptide Terrova and Instinct QUEST motors, with their extended shaft lengths of up to 100 inches, are specially crafted to handle tough offshore environments and larger boats. The redesigned and upgraded components, such as mounts, brackets, shafts, and pivot points, ensure optimal performance and durability. Other features include an upgraded lift-assist assembly for effortless stow and deployment, new propellers for cutting through heavy vegetation while maintaining peak power, and a real-time battery monitoring system that alerts users when the battery charge reaches 20 percent and prompts them to switch to eco mode.
