I caught this beast on April 6, 2013 while fishing with my good friend, Dan Dougherty, in a shallow area of the Chesapeake Bay known as the Susquehanna Flats. She hit about one rod length from my boat and all we saw were three huge boils before she turned and spooled about 100 yards of line off my reel. We fish with light tackle out there and I was surprised my gear held up. She took 25 minutes to land and that involved Dan chasing her with my boat so that other boats in the area didn't run over and cut my line. After a few quick photos, this fish was safely released. We caught about 25 fish that day but none compared to this one, which we estimated at 54-55" and over 60 lbs.
