Pure Fishing, Inc. recently announced that Berkley has created a new grub with a smaller profile than its original PowerBait Power Grub. It is made in a two-, three- and four-inch size, and like its forefather, it is called the PowerBait Power Grub, and all three sizes look to be ideal grubs for Midwest finesse anglers to wield on either a 1/16- or 3/32-ounce Gopher Tackle Mushroom Head Jig.
Its head and torso is encircled with a series of pronounced ribs, which begin at the tip of its nose to the junction of its tail.
The middle portion of its tail is wide, which accentuates the thumping sensation as it undulates during the retrieving process. At the point where the tail joins the torso, the tail is round and narrow, and this configuration seems to heighten the way the tail undulates during the retrieve.

It is impregnated with an attractant or scent, which is the classic PowerBait formula.
The four-incher is available in four traditional black bass colors: Black/Blue, Green Pumpkin, Milky Salt and Pepper, and Peanut Butter Jelly. The three-incher is made in eight colors: Black, Chartreuse, Christmas Lights, Firetiger, Natural Chartreuse, Pearl White, Pumpkinseed, and White. The two-incher is available in nine colors: Black, Chartreuse, Christmas Lights, Firetiger, Natural Chartreuse, Pearl White, Pumpkinseed, White, and Yellow. It is interesting to note that the two-inch yellow Power Grub is what Midwest finesse anglers call a school-bus-yellow hue, and across the years, these anglers have found that it is an extremely effective smallmouth bass and temperate bass color.
The suggested retail price for a package of 20 two-inch, 15 three-inch, and 10 four-inch PowerBait Power Grubs is $4.99.
