We were camped on an island in Lake Nipigon in Ontario, CA and we decided to make the trek to a spot where we have caught some large fish before, 45 minutes later we came upon the spot that we call the hog trough. This fish was lying close to the bank in the mouth of a river, it hit my rapala almost the second it hit the water. This is the largest northern pike I have caught to date and I felt honored that she allowed me to catch and release her who knows, she might be back in that spot next year bigger and badder than this year.
