G. Loomis IMX-Pro Ice Rods
Description and Application: True to the G. Loomis legacy, the new line of IMX-Pro ice rods featuring a 12-model lineup that includes five rods with a solid graphite blank construction for panfish and lighter applications and seven tubular graphite blanks for targeting walleyes, pike, lake trout and other large species. The rods are available in 29-, 31-, 33-, 35-, 37-, 39- and 40-inch sizes. All of the G. Loomis ice rods feature the company’s Hybrid Guide System complimented by the ultra-lightweight REC Recoil guides to resist ice freeze-up. All rods are offered with a 5-year limited warranty.
Staff Perspective: G. Loomis has long been hailed as a premier rod builder, and they are extremely nice fishing rods, without a doubt. Adding a lineup of ice rods takes the legendary quality to anglers across the ice belt. I can think of countless examples of crappies and walleyes being so finnicky that they don’t hit a bait hard enough to indicate a bite through the rod tip. The added sensitivity that comes with a Loomis might put more fish on ice for you this season.—TA
