Fishing Gear: Strike King Tungsten Thunder Cricket

Strike King Tungsten Thunder Cricket

Description and Application: Strike King’s Tungsten Thunder Cricket now features a super-dense and compact tungsten head that allows for the same tight vibration of the original Thunder Cricket in a smaller size. The Tungsten Thunder Cricket is designed to make longer casts than any finesse-sized bladed jig and features a super-strong long-shank Owner Jungle Hook. The eyelet is designed to pivot freely, which produces a highly attractive action and allows for a solid hookset. The Tungsten Thunder Cricket also features a hand-tied skirt for superior swimming action and an extra-durable trailer keeper to keep soft plastics firmly in place. Strike King offers the Tungsten Thunder Cricket in 14 sexy colors and three sizes.

Staff Perspective:I really like the low-profile design, especially with the integrated tungsten heads—you can really bomb this thing, but I also really like the sturdy trailer keeper. Keeping your trailer rigged to the whole contraption while you make cast after cast and catch fish after fish is an impressive part to the new Tungsten Thunder Cricket. These aren’t cheap, so if you fish in waters where norther pike swim, maybe consider a leader—the bass will still eat it. But they certainly work at a level that make them worth every penny.
