Epic Fight Yields 26 pound Chinook

Our "Trout Lout" Salmon Camp trip to Pulaski, NY rolled around a few short weeks after having pins removed from my surgically repaired left hand. My physical therapist built a special splint to help me better hold the rod ... but it was on my OTHER rod when this very lively male Chinook (King) Salmon smashed my fly on the 7 weight rod I was using at the time. A 15 minute battle ensued until, finally, my brother Drew netted my biggest salmon yet, this feisty 26 pounder!
