A buddy I had not seen for a while wanted to meet up and go fishing one day at a pond he heard about on state game lands. The pond is used mainly for duck hunting. I arrived at the pond first and was not sure I was even at the right place. It better resembled a swamp than a pond. I grabbed my rods and headed toward the "pond". The pond was filled with more weeds than water and very shallow. As I make my way to the bank I see what looked like nice fish sitting there so I staying about 10 foot back from the bank so not to spook him. I casted well beyond the fish and brought the 3" Gary Yamamoto Senko closer and let it drop. I made several small twitches to get the lure a little closer when the bass noticed it and attacked. The battle was short and when I grabbed the fish I could tell it was a good fish in length but was very skinny. The fish ended up going 22" and weight 4 pounds even. I got some pictures and released the fish to fight another day.
