I started out fishing in my fisher boat and was doing great, landing lots of walleye. I got a call from Mr. Outboards saying my new Lund was rigged up and ready to go. I loaded my fear up and headed to Green Bay where I needed to pick boat up. We went threw boat and I headed out to Fox river to break it in. A friend of mine and I loaded gear in boat and headed out the channel to vertical jig. We had caught a few here n there. As time went by, darkness started to set in. The sun slowly dropped as we approached the shallows in the fast current. We anchored down pulled out St.Croix rods backed with
quantum smoke reel. We then tied up n went to work. We started pulling decent walleye out. It was a little after 8:00 p.m. when I got bit. I started to reel n reel n reel. I thought I might have snagged fish. The current was strong and the fish was running. Finally I started to wear it out and was gaining on her. I told my buddy "Here she comes," as he grabbed the net. I seen the lure in her mouth as she surfaced. He dipped the net into the water and brought it up, but only to miss the fish. I was shookin up a bit, but stayed with her. I yelled "here she comes again", he dipped net in the water and pulled my trophy into the boat. We took measurements for reproduction quick and pic n immediately released her. Just another taxidermy payment. Lol. It was great.
